Jerrel Sustaita
I was born an artist in an artist family. My dad was a musician and throughout my childhood my mom would spend hours drawing and coloring with me and my siblings at the kitchen table. When I was a young boy I would paint alongside the Bob Ross show, pushing myself to paint as fast as Bob could. I continued to hone my skills throughout high school, but I was unsatisfied with their art classes. This carried on when I went to study Computer Animation at the Art Institute of Dallas. I learned a very important lesson; "I can't wait for someone to guide me to success; if I wanted it, I had to go for it!"
It has been a quarter of a century and those words still ring true. Since I've begun this adventure I have had the good fortune to be able to pursue my passion and share my vision with so many people who have supported me through the purchase of my art.
Throughout it all the vision has remained simple and true; "to reflect the world around me in an honest and pure manner that highlights the simple beauty of life."

I was the Youngest Child of 5. I Grew up in Irving, Southlake, Grapevine areas of Texas. From my earliest summers of memory, My mom would set me down in front of Bob Ross making a scenic painting of some mountains or trees on the television. My mom would give me my own Paints and I would try to keep up with him.

I grew up with a pencil in my hand it seems. After the Art Institute I taught myself to paint. Hours of drawing could not have prepare me for the difference between the two mediums. I went to work at a local art-supply store to be closer to art and artist'. There I was exposed to a wide array of media. And heartily explored the different
I grew up with a pencil in my hand it seems. After the Art Institute I taught myself to paint. Hours of drawing could not have prepare me for the difference between the two mediums. I went to work at a local art-supply store to be closer to art and artist'. There I was exposed to a wide array of media. And heartily explored the different types. On the clock during the less busy hours of the day I taught my self about screen printing, block printing, and the differences in pastels and paints. And to this day I use them all.

I draw my greatest inspiration from life. Reflecting on the beauty of existence moves me to continue pouring myself into my work. Like Vincent Van Gogh and Monet, two of my heroe;, I plow forth into every canvas to master the brush and application of paint. Every painting inspires another. Just like every heart beat pushes on to the next.
